About Us

My husband and I reside in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. I am a native of the Dominican Republic, born and raised in the town of Moca. My husband, Eric is born and raised in Montreal, Canada. We met in the year 2004 and from that year on our lives have blossomed into the most wonderful relationship one can imagine. I came into his life with two boys and now we have a beautiful daughter Amanda who just turned 3 years old.

We started Dominican Creations in 2007; this is after I introduced my husband to all the beautiful handmade crafts made there. We purchased several items to bring back as souvenirs and gifts and due to all the nice comments we got in particular the coconut shell butterflies, my husband suggested that we try to sell them online.

And that we did, starting with butterflies, twelve to be exact and they sold so quickly that we ended up buying more our next trip along with some faceless dolls. These two sold quickly and after that we had an online business running.

We have sold dozens to even hundreds of faceless dolls and butterflies to customers who were using them to give as wedding favors. Corporate event planners as well as many companies have purchased our products such as the famous faceless doll to give as gifts when holding meetings at the various resorts in the Dominican Republic.

Today, we have an office with representatives in the Dominican Republic. Dominican Creations can easily fill almost any request for these products. We can handle all the logistics involved in getting the product to you whether it is here in North America or in the Dominican Republic.

Vision

We believe that what we do will enrich your life and improve the plight of the artisans we encounter in this developing country.  We travel and search for different artisans that produce many different types of crafts and jewelry. It is our goal to try to support these hardworking people by purchasing their crafts directly from them.  It is our vision to become foremost the number one place to purchase crafts and jewelry created by local artisans from the Dominican Republic other than in that country itself.

Mission

Dominican Creations mission is to continue to work with these gifted and creative people to bring their work to you. By buying from us you help us support these gifted Artisans which in turn improves their quality of life in that developing country.  We will never carry a product that we deem not worthy to be called handmade. We will not compromise our values by carrying so called Dominican souvenirs or gifts that are mass produced in factories elsewhere.
